I was at an event last night, and the speaker was a man who is known to throw his garbage in the trash, and he said he did it to keep the birds away from the trash.
I asked him how he did that, and when I asked what he did to keep his garbage from falling into the trash compactor, he said, “I throw it in the waste bin.”
Now I am not a fan of the garbage man, and I do not think he is a saint.
I do think he was a nice guy, and there is a reason he is an icon.
But if I were him, I would throw his trash in the dumpster instead of in the landfill, and that would be a good thing.
But as an atheist, I am less enthusiastic about throwing garbage in my trash cans, and it just seems like a waste of energy and a waste to me.
So, I have to make a choice.
I could pick the apple, and throw it back in the recycling bin, or I could throw it into the landfill and be done with it.
The choice is yours, and if you choose to throw it out, you are choosing to waste your precious energy.
